Head of Projects

We're looking for an experienced Head of Projects to cover maternity leave from June 2026, on an initial 12-month contract with real scope to become a permanent role for the right person.
This is a senior delivery role at the heart of the agency. You'll be responsible for overseeing all of our website and branding projects - ensuring everything is delivered on time, on brief, and to the standard our clients expect. You'll be the connective tissue between our Creative Director, design team (UX/UI), and development team (one front-end, one back-end developer), keeping everyone aligned and projects moving.
You won't be doing this alone. A mid-weight Project Manager reports directly to you and supports day-to-day delivery, so strong leadership and the ability to delegate effectively are just as important as your own organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple custom WordPress website builds simultaneously — from briefing and scoping through to testing and launch
• Lead project planning, milestone setting, and timeline management across all active projects
• Manage resource allocation across the design and development team, shared with the supporting PM
• Proactively identify and resolve risks, delays, or blockers before they impact delivery
• Ensure project documentation, phases, and timelines are always kept up to date in Notion
Client Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
• Host project review sessions and provide clear, regular project updates
• Receive, organise, and route client feedback and content to the relevant team members
• Maintain strong, professional client relationships throughout — delivering an excellent client experience at every stage
Team Leadership
• Line manage and support the midweight Project Manager, providing direction and oversight on their project load
• Collaborate closely with designers and developers to ensure schedules are understood and met
• Support the Creative Director with resource planning and capacity across the team
• Work alongside the sales function to provide accurate timelines and resource availability for new project scoping

Requirements / Experience
• 5+ years of project management experience in a web design or digital agency environment
• Demonstrable experience managing custom WordPress website builds from brief to launch
• Comfortable working across design-to-development handoffs with UX/UI and development teams
• Strong client communication skills — clear, confident, and proactive
• Experience managing and coordinating a project management team or supporting PM
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without dropping the ball on any of them
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and time management
• Comfortable using Notion or similar project management tools
Desirable but not essential
• Experience managing branding projects alongside web delivery
• Familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
• Experience with resource and capacity planning at a team level
• Knowledge of digital marketing and campaign delivery
• Budget management experience
